Children’s Program – Temporarily Suspended (March 2020)

Welcome to CSL Bellingham!  We are delighted to have an active Children’s Program, supporting our youngest members in their spiritual development.  And, of course, having lots of fun! During the 10:30 service, all children are invited forward as the community sings: You are the Face of God.  Children are then dismissed to their classrooms.

Our Children’s Program includes three age groups:

Sparks (toddler-preschool): This group meets in the office.  Our Sparks teachers are available for you to drop off your nursery-age children in time to join the 10 a.m. meditation.  After meditation, you may pick up your child and return to the sanctuary for the 10:30 service, You are the Face of God, and dismissal to classrooms.  Lessons for Sparks are themed each month with topics such as Love, Life, Peace and Beauty.  Sparks have story time, simple songs, craft projects and free play.

Lights (kindergarten-3rd grade): This group meets in the classroom.  We follow the curriculum provided by the curriculum writers for our larger organization.  Lessons are designed to engage children’s natural curiosity while exploring the infinite ways that Spirit is active in their lives.  We use movement, music, crafts, stories and experiential activities to create a fun and engaging environment.

Tweens (grades 4-8): This group follows lessons especially designed for the pre-teen.  They apply spiritual principles to what they experience in the world around them, while continuing to deepen their personal relationship with Spirit.
